Friends of Cal Holman 31 July 2010

This site is dedicated to keeping the friends of Cal Holman and family up to date on progress of the legislative activity stemming from the accident which took Cal Holman's life. Additionally there are updates on the criminal trial prosecuting the two men responsible for Cal's death. Sign up for email updates every month or an RSS feed for news as it is posted. 05/21/10      Laurie Roberts published a response to the sentencing this week - she reflects the sentiment of most of us to the result of two and a half years of justice. Article on 21 May: Racers sentenced in death of Cal Holman Read the comments and please provide your own to the article. 05/19/10      Judge Ryan sentenced Aronica to 3 years probation for each of the two counts. Both are to run consecutively. He requested research into a work release program for a 60 day jail sentence so there is another hearing on 8 July. Van Brakel was sentenced to 5 years in prison. The family appreciated several friends who attended and your letters had an impact - thank you for all the support. 05/12/10      The address for the courtroom is 101 W. Jefferson, East Court Building, Room 512 This is downtown - on the corner of Jefferson and 1st Avenue. 05/11/10      Sentencing by Judge Ryan is next week on 18 May.
