The criminal case against Robert VanBrakel and Travis Aronica is scheduled for a Pre-Trial Conference on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at 08:30 AM before the Honorable Teresa Sanders in Court Room 4A at Maricopa County Southeast Superior Court Complex located at 222 E. Javelina Ave. in Mesa, Arizona.

On Sept 25 the state charged Aronica and Van Brakel with second degree manslaughter and felony endangerment. Van Brakel was also charged with 2 counts of driving under the influence stemming from finding THC in his blood.
This is after a second grand jury reviewed the evidence and the results are positive as the murder charges were not reduced and the additional charges against Van Brakel were introduced.
Bad news is that the trial process is reset and the process begins over from the 25th. So trial is probably not for another 6 to 9 months.

At the hearing on 6/25 Greg Bizzozero, the prosecutor, said that there would be another Grand Jury convening in 1 to 2 weeks. This is to take advantage of the discovery of marijuana in Van Brakel's blood.
This will probably delay the trail by 6 months into the spring of 2009.
